Smithville has a number of Bed & Breakfasts - in town and the surrounding area.  If you would prefer staying in a hotel - the nearest towns are Bastrop (14 miles) or La Grange (18 miles).

Centrally located between Austin and Houston off Texas Hwy 71, it is also close to San Antonio and College Station.  Smithville is approximately 45 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Smithville was the location selected for the movie Hope Floats, and more recently The Tree of Life.
